There's Color Out There

Finally...COLOR!  Half my yard is still snow covered but I can now see Hellebores and Crocus through the snow.   The yellow Crocus are in the sunnier section which is now snow free.  Mind you, I could see them and Daffodils and Tulips beginning to break through the ground a couple of weeks ago.  However, the first day of Spring, March twentieth, brought just about a foot of snow our way.  Thankfully, as I sifted through the snow today, I saw that I still have happy Hellebores.  Crocus always seem to be happy campers no matter the conditions.  I have had mixed flocks of Grackles, Red-winged Blackbirds, and Starlings at my feeders.  Some of the Grackles were walking through the garden flicking over leaf litter in search of insects.  It looked like they were successful.  The flocks are all around the village, flying, foraging, and making a lot of noise.  I am beginning to feel Spring is in the air!
